Girls/Boys - Newport-Mesa NJB Clinic League

The NJB chapter’s clinic league is a great opportunity for new basketball players to learn the fundamentals of the game while having fun with their friends.

Divisional League begins in 3rd grade so prepare now with this clinic run by trained coaches on indoor courts!

What: Both boys and girls are encouraged to sign up. The clinic is co-ed and will prepare all athletes for the separate boys and girls divisional play available the following year.

When: 90-minute clinics are held each Sunday, usually late afternoon/early evening, starting December 2023 and runs through January 2024 (with time off during the holidays)

Where: Newport Coast Community Center Gym - 6401 San Joaquin Hills Road Newport Coast, CA 92657

Cost: The fee is $175.00 and includes a clinic basketball and t-shirt. (Note: League Fees are $160.50 and NJB Card is $14.50)

The 13th Annual Don Daniels Memorial Tournament single-elimination Championship Tournament will take place again in 2024!   

The weekend tournament will begin on 2/9 and conclude on 2/11 with Championship Games at Newport -Mesa area gyms.

Newport-Mesa NJB has a single Winter Season that begins each November and ends in mid-February. The league is parent-coached and competitive but accepts players of all skill levels. Teams are capped at 8-9 players. Sign-ups begin in early September and evaluation day occurs mid-October. League fees were around $270.00 for the 2019-20 season (including required NJB card). Practices are on the weekends and games are played Saturdays / Sundays and during the 2023-24 season. All games are local to the Newport-Mesa area. This league occurs on weekends ONLY -- there are NO games or practices during the week.

We are always looking for experienced referees to do local NJB games here in the Newport-Mesa area.  Beautiful gyms and close to the beach if you want to eat out after the games.  Please contact us at shootthe3@yahoo.com or ocfam@aol.com

The NJB Coaches Clinic is Mandatory for all coaches who coach in our league as well as registration though NJB's background/registration check.  The 2023-24 Coaches Clinic will take place on October 29, 2023 at Newport Coast Gym from 9am-11:00am.  Please register this season via the website below.  Please follow the instructions on the website.
